Oahu FCC Amateur Radio License Testing

KARC does not directly conduct Amateur Radio licensing examinations, although many of our members are VEs (Volunteer Examiners) that support scheduled testing on Oahu. The purpose of this page is to provide contact information for those organizations. The largest group providing test opportunities is the Oahu Civil Defense Amateur Radio Club.

Copies of documents are required as part of the testing process. We do not have equipment to make copies.

Please bring the following with you to the testing site:
  • Two (2) photocopies of
    • Photo ID
    • Passport (if foreign national)
    • If currently licensed, your FCC license or ULS database printout
    • Any previously issued CSCE
  • Several pens and pencils.
  • VEC 2008 testing fee of $14.00

The Oahu Civil Defense Amateur Radio Club holds examinations at one of two locations in Honolulu. Make sure to verify the date, time and testing location with the VE team administrator prior to the test date. The two testing locations are:
